Avoiding Glitches with Indestructible Objects in Forza Horizon 6 - paul_rogers - 18-05-2026

Forza Horizon 6’s open-world Japan is beautiful, but it comes with a catch: some objects are completely indestructible. Shrines, temples, and especially cherry blossom trees don’t budge when you crash into them. Hit one the wrong way, and you might experience car clipping, physics bugs, or even game stutters. Here’s how to avoid those frustrating glitches.
Performance Adjustments
Even if you’re running a high-end rig, crashes into solid objects can make your game hiccup. A few tweaks can keep things smooth:
  • Lower Environmental Settings: Set “Environmental Texture” and “Geometry Quality” to Low or Medium. This reduces micro-stutters when your car smashes into an immovable object.
  • Cap Your Framerate: Turn off V-Sync in-game and use Nvidia Control Panel or AMD Adrenalin to lock FPS. This keeps the game from spiking or dropping frames near dense geometry.
  • Clear Shader Cache: If you notice flickering around static objects, reset your GPU shader cache. This often fixes weird visual glitches after collisions.
Gameplay Strategies
Some glitches aren’t just visual—they can trap your car. A few smart strategies can save you from a frustrating restart:
  • Use Drone Mode: Fly above tricky, tree-heavy areas to plan safe routes before cross-country events. Seeing the path from above helps you avoid tight corners and solid cherry trees.
  • Rewind Immediately: If your car clips into a wall or tree, hit Rewind right away. Waiting too long can leave your car stuck in the geometry.
  • Avoid Photo Mode After Impacts: Entering or exiting Photo Mode immediately after a crash can break nearby geometry. Take a second before snapping pictures.
  • Steer Clear of Cherry Blossoms: Regular bushes and trees break on impact, but pink cherry blossoms are like solid concrete walls. Treat them with respect.
Indestructible objects aren’t just decoration—they’re invisible barriers that can break your flow if ignored. Scout your route, keep your settings optimized, and use Rewind wisely. A little caution keeps your races smooth and glitch-free.
